The order of execution for CDA formulas in SAS Financial Management 5.2 is not the same as it was prior to 5.2. Microsoft Excel 2010 might also be contributing to this, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The situation has been reported as follows:

• Create a report or form that contains CDAGet and CDADesc formulas.
• Create the CDAGet formulas so they depend on results of the CDADesc formulas as inputs to the CDAGets.
• Prior to 5.2, the necessary CDADesc formulas resolved first and then fed the CDAGet formulas, as expected.
• Thus far, we have suggested the following workaround to cause the CDADesc formulas to resolve first in 5.2.
  • Turn off automatic calculation in Microsoft Excel.
  • Create a separate worksheet that resolves the 'source' CDA formulas.
  • Insert VBA code to return the 'source' CDA formula results first, such as execute on workbook open.
  • Re-calculate the remaining worksheet(s) and formulas.
